Hi Peter. I wanted to let you know that this video was one of the Coast Guard’s top videos from 2009. This year we are trying something new and holding the first ever Coast Guard Video of the Year competition.

We took the top videos from 2009, added some audio remarks from the Guardians involved in the case, posted each one on YouTube and are asking viewers to vote for their favorites(s). The final nominee was posted late last week but voting will continue until the end of this week, January 8th.

Your readers can go to the Coast Guard’s YouTube channel playlist (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=3135AE915EA9F28B) and vote for all the videos, but should reserve their highest rating for the one(s) they like the most.

To vote, users simply sign-in to YouTube using their user account, watch the videos in the playlist and then cast a vote using the rating system of one to five stars directly below the video.

Votes will be accepted until January 8th and we expect to announce the winners on the Coast Guard Compass blog (http://coastguard.dodlive.mil) early next week. The units with the top three videos will receive a Flip video camera to enhance their ability to capture and share imagery of their operations.
