You can actually buy a cheap, China-made waterproof case for your camera. You can also improvise one if you’ve got the skill. No need to get a new camera.

Have a Go Pro camera myself. One of the crew on a square rigger I am sailing on used it with a head harness while climbing to the sky sail to unfurl it. The video is breath taking.
